This place is absolutely filthy first of all.
The owner should be embarrassed.
I got goddess braids and all of the curly hair fell out within minutes of leaving the shop.

There is an African Braiding Shop on every street in Harlem. There is no reason why they shouldn’t be able to do the 1 hair style everyone is asking for.

I insisted on them fixing it and after a while they accepted that they messed up and fixed it for me. After reading the reviews I see that this shop was always like this but I am grateful that they fixed my hair. Unfortunately Oumou tried to do knotless large box braids and couldn't deliver. They are all different sizes and not properly installed, despite showing her pictures multiple times. I tried to reach out to get ONE, JUST ONE unusually larger braid corrected (which was purposely done) and she ignored my texts. Who does that and why exactly are you upset?😑

Very dissapointing as she seemed so nice at first. But this unfortunately happens a lot with inexperienced braiders. Nowadays, a lot of stylist (hair,nails,etc) are in need of money, so they embellish to get you in their chair. Beware. Look at the attached pic, this is 5 days later and looks nothing like knotless box braids....
Wow.

Worst experience ever! Would not recommend to anyone and wish I could give 0 star.
Rude staff. "Oumou" (the owner?) told me to shut up when I was trying to explain the style I wanted because she cannot focus when I am talking. But then she had no problem talking to/yelling at the other ladies while doing my hair! She didn't respect me and also didn't do the style I wanted. She doesn't listen to customers. I am not even surprised...
The lady who started doing my hair was the worst! She was extremely slow and maybe took 10mn to do 1 braid. She stopped and went to eat and then prayed for some time when I told her I needed to leave by 1:30pm. She kept saying it would be done by then. Guest what? It was not! Usually this style takes 3 hours. I go to my hairdresser in the Bronx but didn't have time on that day since I was traveling.
Anyway, because of that slow witch, I almost missed my flight by 1mn, when I should have had plenty of time. Also she has dirty hands. I lost one full braid with my hair in it! I am so upset as it may not even grow again.
